About Me

I’m a human male who spends a lot of time on two art-sciences that are apparently unrelated but occasionally seem to be more connected than I would have thought: the martial arts (specifically, Aikidō, Iaidō, and Zazen meditation) and mathematics (specifically, probability, optimization, and uncertainty quantification).

In the beginning, the intent was for this blog to focus mainly on mathematics and the martial arts. However, as Helmuth von Moltke would have predicted, that battle plan didn’t survive contact with the enemy, and the blog branched out into philosophy, education, and travel vignettes.

For the meaning of this blog’s title, see here.
